3 Tips For Staying On Track With Your Health And Wellness Goals

If you have come to a point in your life when you want to have better health or increase your well-being, you may not know how to start and stay on track with your goals. If so, use the following tips to get you motivated to start as well as increase your chances of sticking to your goals.

Visualize Yourself Where You Want To Be In A Year

While making your goals, take a moment to visualize where you want to be in a year. If you feel that time frame is too far away, picture yourself six months from now. Ask yourself what you want, and make a mental image of the finished product.

For example, your goal may be to lose 50 pounds and to have more muscle tone. Picture yourself without the weight with firm muscles. See yourself with a smile and healthy glow as a result of all the progress you have made. Hold on to that image, and revisit it anytime you feel like skipping a workout or eating an extra piece of pie.

Write Down Your Goals In Manageable, Actionable Steps

Once you have a clear image of what you want, work on making it a reality by breaking down your goals into manageable, actionable steps. While your overall goal may be to lose 50 pounds, you may not succeed if you do not have a plan mapped out.

Using the example of losing weight, first think about how much you would like to lose each week. While you may be tempted to try to overdo it and lose 10 pounds in one week, remember that healthy, sustainable weight loss happens one to two pounds per week.

Keeping that in mind, think about how you can cut calories by taking action like cutting out sodas and drinking water. Or, you can increase your physical activity in increments of five minutes per day, keeping track of your progress by writing in a journal.

Post Goal Reminders Wherever You Can

Once you have your plan written down, post goal reminders wherever you can. These can be written on sticky notes or be cut-outs of magazines that represent your ultimate goal. Then, place them on your bathroom mirror, the front of your refrigerator or even on the steering wheel of your car. Just make sure you put them places that you may need reminder and you will see every day.

Visualizations and creating concrete reminders of your goals can help you stay on your path to living an overall healthier life. However, if you have trouble keeping yourself motivated or need more focused help in achieving your goals, you may want to look for services that provide wellness coaching online.

About Me

Benefits of Attending a Place of Worship

I have attended church regularly all of my life. In fact, my dad has been an evangelical pastor since I was a baby. Some of my best memories were made at church services, parties, and other functions. I met many of my best friends in the world at church. Besides listening to a minister preach an uplifting message every week, I adore listening to the beautiful music sung at my place of worship. In addition to enjoying listening to music in my pew, I also sing solos during Sunday services at my church. On this blog, I hope you will discover the most notable benefits of attending a place of worship on a regular basis. Enjoy!
